About Nordbok's support schemes
Translation support - April
1 and October 1
The aim of the translation grant is to encourage the publication of Nordic
literature in other Nordic languages than the original language. Twice
a year, Nordbok supports the translation of literature between the Nordic
languages. Nordbok primarily supports the translation costs, but as for
the small language areas Greenland, the Faroe Islands and the Sami language
area, Nordbok might also support the publication costs for publications
which require particularly heavy investments.

The purpose of translator’s stipends is to attract an increasing
number of translations from Faroese, Greenlandic and Sami into the major
languages of the North. The stipends are also supposed to increase the
number of qualified translators in the above mentioned languages. The
stipend can be given for one or more translation projects carried out
at home or as a travelling stipend.
